PRIOR TO MOVING
- Please make sure that you have all valuables with you prior to removal. Keep these with you throughout your removal.
- Carefully consider where you are going to place your belongings at your new residence.
- Arrange for a cleaner to clean your current home the day after your removal. Also arrange for a cleaner to clean your new home before moving in.
- Dispose of flammable items and drain all fuels and oils out of items to be moved.
- Remove batteries from devices.
- Make sure that you have disconnected and packed all electrical cords. Clearly mark on the carton its contents.
- Defrost the refrigerator at least 24 hours prior to your removal, this will allow time for it to dry. Use a dry cloth to wipe the fridge out before your move. Discard any food.
- Hunt Removals recommends that you consider arranging professional packing by our team. This will help reduce stress on your move day. Having a professional pack your possessions will minimise damages that may occur from in correct packing.
- If packing yourself, finish packing all items into cartons. Anything that can fit in a carton should go into one. Take any valuable items with you.
- Confirm insurance arrangements. Hunt Removals recommends that you consider taking insurance for your removal and/or storage. We can arrange transit and storage insurance for you – please give one of our friendly staff a call.
- Pull down any pre-fabricated furniture. Pre-fabricated furniture are items that have been put together, i.e. Ikea style furniture. They can be moved in one piece, but they will be moved at your own risk, meaning that if they are damaged we will not take any responsibility.
